![]() ![]() TIP: I turned off the “UAC” because with it on, I couldn’t run certain programs, like the “Symantec's Conficker (aka Downadup) tool”. Hope someone will find this solution helpful. ![]() That’s It! All was well after the reboot. Next, I went 1 tab over to “boot” and unchecked the “Safe Mode” check box. There was no need for me to stop anything from starting up, I just had to click the “Normal Startup” under the default “General Tab”. None of the “ideas” worked here, but the guy above who said check the “msconfig” out was on to something. Whoever said Vista does not, has no idea what they are talking about.) I racked my brain and finally decided to do a search on the web. (And yes, It DOES say “Safe Mode” in all 4 corners of the background. When I did, it kept booting in “Safe Mode” and wouldn’t let me get any further no matter what, even logging into other accounts. My Problem came after I turned off the “UAC” (User Account Control) and it asked for a restart. I know this thread is old, but it still comes up under searches, so, If anyone else is having a problem out there, please don’t reformat like was ignorantly suggested above.
